On August 8, 1839, the Beta Theta Pi fraternity was founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  In the 163 years since its conception, Beta Theta Pi has grown to over 140 chapters spanning the United States and Canada and has seen its membership grow to over 160,000 strong.

The Gamma Theta chapter of Beta Theta Pi here at Washington State University offers a well-rounded college experience.  Betas believe that a successful man is a well-balanced man in and out of the classroom.  Members are encouraged to participate in activities throughout the campus and community.  Betas are highly involved in intramural sports, ASWSU and serve on several other committees, clubs, and activities.  Betas strive for nothing less than excellence in our academics and promote academic assistance so we can succeed scholastically.  Beta Theta Pi creates an atmosphere that promotes a positive living, learning, and social environment.  Our chapter house recently completed a $350,000 remodel to the second and third floors.  To ensure our house remains a premier living facility, our members are committed to keeping our chapter house alcohol and substance free.  Beta Theta Pi's strongest attribute is the brotherhood that all of our brothers share.  The brothers of Beta Theta Pi are supportive of one another; they celebrate the good times together and are there to support each other during the bad times.  The combination of academic excellence, social development and support for each other strengthens our bonds and makes us brothers for life.
