Phi Delta Theta was founded at Miami University of Ohio on December 26, 1848. Since that time we have grown to over 170 active chapters across the United States and Canada with over 220,000 initiated members since our founding. Phi Delta Theta offers over 70 undergraduate scholarships every year, and we hold 2 yearly Leadership Conferences. Phi Delta Theta was the first fraternity to take on the Substance-Free Housing Initiative. Since June 1, 2000, all chapters have been substance free.

Colonized in the spring of 2002 and installed as a chapter on March 15, 2003, Phi Delta Theta made its triumphant return to the Washington State University campus.  The chapter has a rich history at WSU and it is our hope that we can match the storied success of the past in the future.  Among the many successful alumni of our chapter here are Ron Cey, a seven time All-Star with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Hugh Campbell, the greatest receiver in Cougar football history (known as the Palouse Phantom).  Other Brothers include Neil Armstrong (Purdue), Frank L
loyd Wright (Wisconsin), Doak Walker (Southern Methodist), Burt Reynolds (Florida State), Morgan Ensberg (USC), and Roger Edbert (Illinois).

Since the refounding, our chapter has grown significantly and become a strong presence in the WSU Greek Community.  We have a legitimate study program and a high number of our members are on the President's Honor Roll.  We participate regularly in community service.  Since the fall of 2005 we have done multiple small-scale food drives, assisted the citizens of Colton's Christmas Committee with putting up decorations around town, and we volunteer regularly at the Human Society of the Palouse in Moscow.  Additionally, we have participated in numerous Sorority Philanthopies.  This Spring, we will be holding our own Philanthropy: the Walk to D-Feet ALS.  Phi Delta Theta's international charitable cause is in assisting the ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease) Foundation, to help find a cure for the terrible disease that killed our Phi Delt Brother Lou Gehrig.

The chapter is also very active in Intramural Sports.  This past year, we have fielded teams for flag football, soccer, softball (our most successful team), tennis, basketball, voleyball, and bowling.

The chapter also has a healthy social life to complement our intellectual development.  It is our belief that a well-rounded life is the best way to maximize the college experience and foster development into the highest type of man.

We live lives of friendship, sound learning, and moral rectitude.  We are a select few among millions.  Will you be one of them?
