Since our founding in 1855 and inception into the WSU Greek community in 1919, Sigma Chi has been dedicated to the preservation of individuality within our Fraternity. Upon entering Sigma Chi you will be given several opportunities to become involved with our Chapter, the Pullman community, Greek community, University, campus organizations, etc. Our membership and our Chapter emphasize scholarship, leadership, brotherhood and involvement. You will have resources and references at your disposal for what ever your scholarly or leadership needs may be. In addition, will you have a Big Brother and a Pledge trainer to act as mentors, you will also have a Chapter Advisor/Fellow that lives in Pullman and works for WSU. As a team we will all address your needs, concerns and inquiries. The men of Sigma Chi see new members as the foundation and future of all Greek organizations. It is Sigma Chi's responsibility to give you a high quality experience that you remember and share for the rest of your life.Sigma Chi's new member program runs about 8-10 weeks with pledge fees of $350/semester. We have recently finished our first year under our newly revised new member program at WSU to give our new members a more active role in the chapter. As a way to continually strive for our Sigma Chi ideals we have completely redesigned our goals, mission statement and programs, including all chapter programming, community service and philanthropic events, scholarship programs, and social calendars. Our Sigma Chi Chapter has a very large alumni backing and support system across the nation and is currently working with Pennington & Co., a fundraising company, on the fundraising and construction of our new house. Demolition is scheduled for the summer of 2004.

Even though we do not currently have a house, we still will be partaking in our annual fall Raft Trip, spring cruise, Sweetheart ski trip to Whitewater, BC, Derby days, Winter Formal, several Brotherhoods which include: road trips, camping trips, U of I Sigma Chi vs. WSU Sigma Chi football game, WSU vs. Colorado football game in Seattle, as well as functions with sororities. We are a small (10 men) but have a strong alumni support system and are very ambitious and enthusiastic about our future. Our men are currently residing in dorms, apartments, and houses, but we all make it a point to get together several times a week for the aforementioned events and other gatherings; brotherhood is very important to our men.
