History:
Order of Omega is a national leadership honor society, which was founded at the University of Miami by a group of outstanding fraternity men in 1959. The goal of the organization was to recognize individuals for their leadership and service in the Greek community and the University. There are now over 300 Order of Omega chapters in the U.S. and in Canada.
The Alpha Zeta chapter of the Order of Omega was founded at Washington State University on May 22, 1979. The purpose of Order of Omega is threefold:First, to recognize those students who have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-Greek activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment.
Second, to bring together the most representative fraternity and sorority members, and to create an organization, which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate affairs.
Third, to bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding, and helpfulness. The colors of Order of Omega are ivory and gold. The pin is an omega.Membership:
